Maison Fatien Père et Fils is a family business. It is situated in the heart of the Route des Grands Crus in the small town of Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, and is established in a private residence steeped in history. The property boasts superb vaulted cellars supported by Cistercian pillars which make an ideal place for ageing wines. At the domain the production and ageing of the wines are controlled by second generation Charly Fatien. He completed his university studies with various work placements at some of Burgundy's most well-known domains, and more importantly is surrounded by a family with a strong oenological culture. These experiences have taught him to respect the ancestral methods used to manage the vineyards and carry out vinification. The 2 hectare domain is made up of several vineyards in various villages.

Old vintages are available for tastings. All too often consumers are unable to fully appreciate the richness of older wines as they have no ideal storage facility in their homes in which to age them. Maison Fatien is able to do it for them so that they are able to try mature wines. Chardonnay, used for the white wines, thrives in the perfect climatic conditions of Burgundy. Nobody can deny that the greatest white wines in the world are made in Burgundy from Chardonnay.

For the reds we use only Pinot Noir, cultivated respecting tradition in the best terroirs. It is a varietal with great finesse and aromas which cover the entire range of red fruits. On the whole, with this varietal we strive to encourage the expression of the fruit rather than colour through extraction.

The three key words for the domain : quality, quality, quality, have come to bear fruit as we have the opportunity to taste these nectars. To really understand the Burgundian spirit nothing beats tasting out of the barrel whilst visiting the cellars.
